Colourful Pegs and Ponkey

Emilia absolutely adores playing with the clothes pegs, she can be sitting on her highchair for a while as long as she has the pegs basket in front of her. Originally, we only had wooden and boring white pegs, then my parents bought colourful ones in the shape of birds and butterflies. Needless to say, Emilia adores them and now she has got even more stuff to throw from her little throne.

Another welcomed companion who is always attached to the chair is Ponkey, the Pink Monkey. He is so cute, always looking up to Emilia, trying to climb up to her, that I have renamed them *Emilia and Ponkey*, the new Romeo and Juliet :) And you should see all the kisses that Emilia gives him...they make Rob jealous!

Play Session

My parents and Emilia have just got back from yet another successful play date. This time they went to a Play Centre located within Southwark Park. Unfortunately, they arrived late for the *Play To Learn* session, where kids play with different materials such as water, sand, and paint. However, they still made use of the facility, the toys and the outdoor playground. Emilia loved it and made new friends! My parents will leave next week and I know we will all miss them terribly.

A good investment

When Rob decided to buy the Jumperoo he said: this is going to be a good investment. Emilia will play with it and get lots of stimulation for her brain and activity for her body. What he really meant was that Emilia would spend lots of time in it allowing us to have some free time to do other things. Well done, Rob! Investments are life savers!

Playtime

I must admit, I am not a big fan of modern baby toys. To my eyes, there is too much plastic, flashyness and cheesyness. I prefer old style wooden and fabric toys. However, I understand that babies are attracted by all the colours, sounds, and creatures that come with modern toys, and Emilia is no different. Our flat is literally inundated with Emilia's toys, of all kinds.

Among the more conservative ones, some of my favourites are the wooden toy that Emilia recently received from Lyla and Eden while we were in Baltimore and the multi-fabric cube that Ilaria and Cristian gave her when they came to London a few months ago.

As far as plastic toys go, nothing is *worse* than the Jumperoo, a "sculpture" made of plastic. However, Emilia loves it. Following the success of the Baby Einstein in the States, Rob decided to buy something similar to have with us at home. We built it yesterday and so far the effects have been great. It stimulates Emilia like nothing else, and tires her out so much that last night she slept for more than twelve hours straight and this afternoon she napped for an hour and a half (her naps usually last no more than thirty minutes).  Viva le Jumperoo!

Baby Einstein

On her first day in Baltimore Emilia got to play with a crazy toy: The Baby Einstein! Do you want to stimulate your kids? This is the answer! The Baby Einstein has got it all, bouncer, music, colourful creatures, thousand things to grab and more. As you can see, Emilia loves it! She is still a bit too short but boy can she jump on those little toes! It's so fun to watch her.

I see you. I hug you. I kiss you.

Emilia received a new doll from our friend Silvana and her little grand-daughter Linda Paola and as you can see from these pictures, she loves her. Thank you!

Roosters are exciting!

Emilia is getting more and more playful and has a clear idea of what she likes and what she does not. One thing that drives her crazy every time is a little rooster that was part of a Christmas package to Emilia from aunt Marilena and Bea. I love it too since it has a little handle that Emilia's tiny hands can grab, a wing good for teething, and a clear ball in the stomach with little balls inside that make noise. I say the rooster has kidney stones :)

Watch how excited she gets when I shake it.
