Ella's Bakehouse

Ok, so there are several very good cupcake shops in London and many of these are quite popular: Lola's cupcakes, Primrose bakery, The Hummingbird bakery ...
But yesterday for the very first time I discovered this little cupcake shop in the very heart of Covent Garden and I fell in love! One thing I am asking: how can it be that I keep discovering new things in places where I go pretty much every day!? How could I miss this little gem? This is the magic of London!

Ella's bakehouse is a tiny little shop at one of the corners of the beautiful Covent Garden Piazza. What I loved about it, apart from the super lovely cupcakes, was probably the fact that it is very small, not pretentious at all, which means it only has five seats! And the stools themselves are quite cool, very old style, diner-type, red leather stools.
My friend Steph and I went there last night to celebrate my engagement and we could have not picked a better place. Quite girlie, as you'd expect from a cupcake shop, but not too much! Don't forget the *Happy Days* style stools! Boys, fans of Fonzie, you are welcome too!

Getting ready for rainy days...

The weather has certainly changed in the last couple of days. The temperatures have dropped drammatically and it's quite crisp now. And I am getting ready for some rainy days....

I have been wanting to buy these Vivienne Westwood boots for quite a while now, and finally they are in my shoe collection!

I am bored

Today is one of those days...the sky is grey, the weather is depressing and I am all alone in the office. I am bored! Thankfully it's Friday and the weekend is about to kick off!

Princi {London}

I know this blog is slowly becoming a London-obsessed-blog and I apologise! But London offers so much to talk about that I can't avoid to share all its beauties with you.

Now, this bakery is not new but if you haven't been yet, I strongly recommend a visit!
Princi is a fantstic Italian bakery set in the heart of Soho, London. The food is divine and the venue just perfect! Visit Princi for a snack, lunch or just a coffee, you won't be disappointed!

What must be like...

It's London Fashion Week these days and the city is full of giant beauties! I can't avoid to notice all the beautiful, particular, quirky girls wandering around the area where I work (The Strand) and I can't avoid to wonder what must be like to be a model? You are so tall, so beautiful, dressed by world famous designers...what kind of life do you live? If there is any model out there among my readers (!?), please tell us what's like to be you?

Weekend Highlights

Oh, I love beautiful weekends...they are so refreshing!
What have you been up to? Tell me...

Rob and I have had a lovely couple of days in gorgeous London. The weather has been quite nice and we have been wandering around the city enjoying the loveliness. If you live in London or are visiting or planning a trip soon, I have two nice places to recommend:
1) National Portrait Gallery Restaurant I have always been a big fan of the National Portrait Gallery, it is such a cute, little museum. But what I really love about that museum is the lovely restaurant on the 4th floor which offers breathtaking views over London. The food is also very good: I totally recommend the sweet potato and leek frittata, to die for!
2) Daylesford Organic is a group of cafe', restaurants and shops that specialise in organic, fresh, seasonal and local food. They have several stores in London; we picked the cafe' in Pimlico and went there for brunch with our friends Steph and Andrew and absolutely loved it! The decor is beautiful and so relaxing. White is the predominant colour: tables, benches, flowers, candles, glasses...everything is pure white. I fell in love with their candles but I had to resist to buy one since the smallest one was 15 GBP! A bit pricey! I was also tempted to buy their beautiful glasses but my other, more rational half made me realise that we don't really have space for new glasses, so I will have to wait until we move to a bigger space. They are on my list though, I won't forget! Before leaving we stopped at the bakery on the ground floor and bought two giant cookies for the trip back home, they were divine! We'll be back Daylesford!

Now I can start the new week, I am regenerated.

Zero Japan teapot

I have been dreaming to buy a Zero Japan Teapot for quite a while now, in fact since I visited the lovely High Tea of Highgate tea shop several months ago. Just recently I noticed that a modern tea store in Shad Thames, very close to where I live, sells them and since then I have been wandering around the store admiring the lovely teapots pretty much every weekend...until a few days ago when I finally decided it was the right time to buy one! I spent days and nights thinking which colouor and size to buy, I asked friends and family what they thought, and after some serious consultation I went for the large, round, pink teapot. I absolutely adore it!
I have been brewing rose and lavender&rosemary teas so far and can't wait to try new flavours...yes, I am ready for Autumn!
