Rob and I celebrated the beginning of the weekend with a wonderful day in Richmond. We took the tube from Tower Hill and one hour later we were in beautiful Richmond town! I had been wanting to go for quite some time and in particular I wanted to pay a visit to the lovely Petersham Nurseries where we had lunch and relaxed a bit while wandering around gorgeous flowers and plants. It was incredibly relaxing and we felt recharged and ready to go back home and deal again with the stress of the move! It's hard to believe it took us eleven years to go to Richmond but I am so glad we did eventually; we could have not said goodbye to London properly, otherwise!

Barbican Conservatory
On Sunday we met with some friends at the Barbican Conservatory, the second biggest conservatory in London, which is right in the heart of the city and not far from us. We found it incredibly peaceful and relaxing, while the kids particularly liked watching the big fish! It was the perfect way to spend an otherwise gloomy and cold day.

The Art of the Brick: Lego Exhibition
Today we finally went to see The Art of the Brick, an exhibition I had wanted to see in a long time! The exhibition was thankfully extended and today was the final day. It features over 80 pieces of art, all made with Lego bricks by the NYC based artist Nathan Sawaya. I knew I would like it and I was sure Emilia would love it too but I must say: it blew us away! It is a marvelous exhibition, not only for the works themselves but also for the sense of accomplishment and level of creativity and energy that the artist wants you to leave the exhibition with. I could see it again, and again, and again! I took a lot of pictures, here are just a few to give you an idea of what it is like. Amazing, right?!

UK Mother's Day
It was Mother's Day in the UK last Sunday and we celebrated with a nice day out. The night before, our friends Ilaria, Cristian and baby Tommaso arrived to London and Emilia was very excited to wake up and have breakfast with them. For the occasion, she gave me a sweet plant which I put straight on the breakfast table, isn't it beautiful?!
After breakfast, we all headed to the Museum of London Docklands for some fun. We visited the museum, played hard at the Mudlarks, and then enjoyed a nice meal at the museum's restaurant. It was the perfect way to celebrate mother's day with my family and best friends!
