I wish...

Usually my wish list is full of designer handbags and shoes, now what I really wish for is to be able to spend three nights of uninterrupted sleep in one of these hotels:

1. The Big Sleep Hotel, Eastbourne because I just love everything with an Orla Kiely print.

2. nhow hotel, Berlin for its excessive and serene use of pinkness.

3. Brody House, Budapest for its art collection

4. Les Source de Caudalie, Bordeaux. The Ile Aux Oiseaux Suite is to die for.

While the chance of sleeping in any of these hotels in the next few days is very little, thankfully, I will still be able to get some sleep thanks to my mum visiting in ten days. Please don't judge me but I cannot wait to close my bedroom door for a couple of nights and forget about night feeds...

W London

Last Sunday Rob and I went with some friends to the new and glamorous W Hotel in Leicester Square and loved it.
The atmosphere is very cool and groovy. The hall is full of glittery disco balls and the lounge is very welcoming. The drinks were delicious, one round wasn't enough!
The hotel also has a fabulous spa and my friend Steph and I are planning a girlie, pre-wedding evening together there. Can't wait!

Stockholm Getaway

Rob and I will be going to Stockholm at the end of May as a little getaway before the wedding. I didn't realise how expensive hotels are in this city. I am still looking but this is on top of my list. It's very quirky and arty, right up my street!

Have you been to Stockholm? Any suggestions? What should we see? Where should we eat?
I am very excited and am sure it will be wonderful to take a little trip to such a cool city just a month before the wedding. It will be relaxing and inspiring!

A Tourist in London

I absolutely love acting as a tourist in London! Since I live here, I don't really get to experience all the wonderful hotels that the city has to offer, so every year I very much look forward to the end of January when Rob organises a big conference with his company and he always gets a room in the hotel they are staying. And usually, they pick very nice hotels. So far we spent the night at Claridges and the Radisson Mayfair, both very lovely options. This year they had picked the Intercontinental Park Lane and let me tell you, I was a bit disappointed. Of course I am not complaining, I didn't spend one penny to stay there but if I did, I think I would have been a bit upset. While the hall is quite welcoming and nice, with lovely chandeliers, nice sofa chairs and beautiful and modern flower arrangements everywhere,

the rooms are outdated to say the least. Mustard carpet and peach and cream striped wall-papers, thick yellow and red curtains, heavy furniture...seriously? It's nice to have a great entrance to welcome guests but it's even nicer if the upper floors and the rooms are lovely too!

Anyway, I had a very nice evening nontheless. My friend Elena joined me to the hotel at about 6.30pm, we chatted in the room for a little while and then we headed to Automat for dinner.

We kicked off with a yummy Cosmopolitan and then enjoyed some very good American food (i.e. Crab Cake with Guacamole as a starter and a great cheesburger with even better fries!). After dinner we went back to the hotel and enjoyed a cup of peppermint tea and talked and talked like only women can do! I felt on holiday for one evening and I truly enjoyed it!

Rough Luxe Hotel

I wish I could justify checking into an hotel in London for at least one day...I would get addicted to this hotel! Rough Luxe because it is half rough, half luxury. A little bit of luxury in a rough part of London. A little bit of rough in a luxurious London. I love it!
