Play Session

My parents and Emilia have just got back from yet another successful play date. This time they went to a Play Centre located within Southwark Park. Unfortunately, they arrived late for the *Play To Learn* session, where kids play with different materials such as water, sand, and paint. However, they still made use of the facility, the toys and the outdoor playground. Emilia loved it and made new friends! My parents will leave next week and I know we will all miss them terribly.

Two Years

Rob and I celebrated two years of marriage yesterday. As I am still recovering from my recent surgery, we couldn't do much. However, we still enjoyed a nice meal out in one of the local restaurants and celebrated the occasion with bubbles, seafood and lobster! We had a lovely time remembering what we were doing at that exact time two years ago and took a lovely after dinner stroll. It seemed to be on holiday. And speaking of which, we will officially celebrate the anniversary with a four-day vacation under the Tuscan sun at the end of August, and we cannot wait!

P.S. To my sweet in-laws: thank you ever so much for the lovely card!

Book Club

Yesterday afternoon my parents took Emilia to her first Book Club gathering. The weather wasn't great in London but they still went and Emilia, apparently, was very good. What I thought was sweet about the club is that the educators have HUGE books and while they flip through them, they read and also sing some rhymes. According to my parents, Emilia recognised some of the songs and clapped her hands when it was time to. The club is for kids aged between five months and five years old. The good news is that the gatherings are on Monday afternoon, from 1.30 to 3.00pm, and I don't work on Mondays, so I can take her to!

Outside the Play Centre. She was so over exhausted that she then fell asleep!

Prova Costume!

Bikini season is upon us and we will be going to Pescara for three nice weeks at the end of August! Therefore, today, we tried on some of the bathing suits that I bought for Emilia to make sure that they fit. She has five here and two in Italy. She also has a nice variety of sun hats - she is all set. Thankfully everything fits very nicely and we think she looks adorable! Can't wait to go to the beach - Pescara, get ready for us!

G-daddy Love!

These days Emilia is spending some quality time with her Italian grandparents and is particularly enjoying playing with her grandaddy. I love taking family pictures, I think it will be wonderful in a few years to look at all these pictures together and remember the beautiful days that we all spent with baby Emilia. She is precious.

Ready for the Market!

My parents are in town, they arrived a couple of days ago and this time they brought fresh plums from our garden. Again, how do I miss being able to go to the garden and pick up fresh fruit every time I want! Back when I lived at home, every month there was something fresh from the garden, whether it was vegetables, fruits, or nuts - I simply loved it.

Emilia seems to enjoy fresh fruit too and really loved playing with the plums. Of course, she thought they were a toy but when she saw us eating them, well, let's just say she wasn't happy that she was not having any! Next time we are in Italy we will go to the garden together and collect whatever is available and perhaps we can then go to the local market and sell it all. It's never too early to have a first lesson on money and commerce :)

When the cat's away, the mice will play!

While I was in Barcelona, my mum and grandmum took Emilia to her monthly appointment with Bach to Baby. This month was the time of a piano duet and judging from these pictures, it looks like both Emilia and nonna Patrizia had lots of fun.

Mum and grandmum left just a few hours ago and we already miss them terribly! Can't wait to see you again.

Happy Father's Day!

It's Father's Day in the UK (and the US too) and we celebrated with some homemade pizza for lunch! My mum and grandmum asked Rob what he wanted to have for his special day and he asked for Italian pizza. There is nothing better than some good homemade dough and my mum and grandmum are just the best at making it! For the occasion Emilia created a specially designed card with pictures of her and her daddy and I tried to capture the day with some sweet shots of the two playing together.

Happy Father's Day to all the new and less new daddies in the UK and the US!
