Home Sweet Home

I am going to Pescara for a long weekend. Looking forward to spending some quality time with friends and family, walking at the beach, enjoying some good pizza, having as many aperitivi as possible in three days and doing nothing but relaxing!
Have a joyful weekend!

London Marathon

We had so much fun! The weather was glorious, the atmosphere magical, the outfits quite funny and that sausage thing just delicious! Have you ever run a marathon? Would you ever consider doing it?

Fabric excitement

I have just created my first design for spoonflower and am so excited! You can view it here. Please tell me what you think? It's my first attempt but I plan to play around and make more designs soon, this is so much fun!

Nostalgia

Maybe because the weather has been so glorious in London in the last couple of days (The paper yesterday said: "Sun of a gun, it's hotter than Italy!") or perhaps I am just being nostalgic...whatever the reason, I ordered an {olive tree} baby plant and it arrived yesterday morning in all its glory! I was so excited! I planted it immediately and it is now *tanning* in the terrace...
I may be producing my own olive oil this year (ahahah!!)

My next holiday...

This is where my next holiday is going to be...our diary is pretty full at the moment but now I know where we will be spending next year's August Bank Holiday. Doesn't it look idyllic?

My new bag!!

If I have to name one thing I {love}, I would definitely go with bags! Well, yes, I also have a thing for shoes, summer dresses and big necklaces! But yes, bags is where I really *invest* my money! This piece of art, however, came free! Better, it was a surprise gift from my adorable boyfriend! You want to know the reason behind this very much appreciated gesture? A sleepless night! At 2.30 am last Friday I was forced to leave the bedroom; Rob's cold had become umberable and very noisy so that I could not sleep. I moved to the main room and tried to sleep on the couch. It goes without saying that I did not sleep much! At 6.30 Rob woke up to go to the hospital, he was now feeling poorly and needed to see a doctor. At 8.15 my alarm clock went off: I had to go tutor Latin to the other side of the city. I was sooo tired! Long story short, once back home a few hours later I found Rob already at home, feeling already a bit better after taking antibiotics, and a huge shopping bag on the table...the rest, you know it already!
Isn't he the best boyfriend ever!?

Gaia: as you can see, our obsession for Paul Smith continues :)

Thank you!

A *huge* thank you to all the people who contacted me the days following the tragedy. You REALLY touched me!

As many of you know, on Monday the 6th, at 3.32am, while the country was sleeping peacefully, my region, Abruzzo, was attacked by a massive earthquake. My parents, grandmum and I were all in our bedrooms when we heard the atrocious noise, the rumbling of the earth, and felt the entire house moving. It was very scary! We all ran outside and found refuge in the car. Four people, four adults, feeling completely powerless and so so tiny against the ferocious strength of the earth. One thing I remember of those moments was how "expanded" time seemed to be: 40 seconds felt like hours!

A couple of hours later we discovered about what had just happened; we learnt that the epicentre had been located in L'Aquila, just 60 km from my hometown.
Fom that morning everything has changed. L'Aquila, the beautiful city with all its historical momuments and 99 churches, does not exist anymore. 300 people got killed and thousands are now homeless. The whole region, the whole country, sent volounteers straight away and my family and I did our best to offer our help.

Things like this make you wonder. Life must be lived and enjoyed in toto while we can!

Thank you guys for all your support!
