Bye Bye, See you soon

So, this is it! Today was my last day at work and it was VERY hard to say goodbye! I loved working there and met wonderful and special people I feel very attached to now.
I made this print and put it on the shelf behind my desk so that the next person who will be sitting there will feel welcome!
Thank you guys for the amazing time, I'll miss you!

Busy Busy

I am a quite busy person all the year round but I believe I can fairly say that the last few weeks have been particularly crazy!
At work there was a lot to do, given also that today is my last day there; my other work, my "real" passion, has kept me up for a series of nights! I have made, wrapped and labelled so many cards to bring to the shops in London and Pescara where I am about to start selling them. There has not been one night when I was able to go to bed before 1.00, mostly 2.00 o'clock! But I loved it! The trouble is that when you start creating, you can't stop! So, even if I felt tired and my brain told me it was time to go to bed, once under the comfy duvet cover, my mind and imagination would start travelling towards new horizons and then I would ask myself if I should get up and make another card with a different colour or pattern?
So work and hobby have kept me busy...the result is that now, less than 20 hours before my departure to Italy, I am still doing laundry, ironing and deciding what to bring! Plus, this weather does not help: one day is rainy and windy, the other day is super sunny and hot!
I better go back to work now...

Real Simple

Just to say how beautiful life is when it's simple! We had an amazing weekend: the weather in London was glorious and we spent most of the Saturday shopping at our local organic market. I bought lots of yummy goodies, new flowers for the terrace and these gorgeous mini-tulips. Saturday evening I made cupcakes (blue this time!) and Sunday we had our very good friends Elena and Alessandro over for lunch and an intense and very competitive *monopoly* challenge! It was soooo fun! We started playing at 15:00 and went on and on till 19:30!

If you are with the right people, if you eat and drink well, and if you have fresh flowers in the house and outside it is sunny and warm, you cannot have a bad day!

Hope you all had a joyful end of the week and are now regenerated to start a new one :)

Concert Update

We saw Snow Patrol a couple of days ago. It was awesome and I fell in love with the lead singer :)
Some funny bits of the night: The couple next to me had clearly never been to a concert before! They kept taking pictures of each other and when they were not doing so, they made out! It was so irritating, the girl's bum was litterally at my face and his hands were all over the place! Quite funny though! And if this was not enough, the couple next to them was even more brilliant! They were dancing hard the whole time, even when the song did not "require" any dancing, and when they were not dancing, they were smoking the pot! How entertaining!

Peaceful Birthday

Today is the birthday of my uncle Arturo. He was the most important person in my life (still is!) and I want to dedicate this picture to him. Even if he is not with us anymore, I know he can see from this same window, I know he can see that sea, and I know he is still with us in anything we do. Ti voglio tanto bene zio!

Liberty Heaven

If you are crazy about Liberty prints as much as I am, head to Shaukat, you'll find everything (and more!!) you need! If you are lucky enough to live in London, go to the wonderful area of South Kensington, loose yourself in the surroundings and definitely take a trip to this fabric shop! Otherwise, you know how to spend your free-time now: the online shop has a HUGE variety of Liberty fabrics! Have fun!

Bello e Buono

Rob and I had a quite colourful (and yummy!) experience yesterday evening.
We visited Borough Market (for those of you who are not from London, or the UK even, Borough Market is THE organic market in town!) and bought these interesting black tortelloni filled with crab meat from a new Italian stall (Pasta all'uovo). They looked weird but cool, so we decided to try them! The problem was: what kind of sauce goes with it? I am not a huge fan of red sauce, I mean, it's fine, but I can do better than that! So I decided to go for prawns and courgettes (the prawns were still alive when I bought them..and I didn't know whether that was a good thing or not!?). Anyway, the result was quite delicious and scenic!
Wanted to share it with you :)

Green, at last!

So, finally after many emails, calls and desperate requests, our council and the agent have agreed to add three bins for recycling in our bin-area! Needless to say that I am super excited about it! Sometimes it is good to scream and shout! I have finally obtained what I wanted!
Now, I need to get organised in the flat...and instead of buying three big litters I have decided to go for these very practical and cool bags from cox and cox to put in a corner of the kitchen.
What do you think?

In love with Milly...

I am loving Milly at the moment and this is the dress I have been dreaming about...I need an excuse to buy it, any suggestion?

It's never too late to watch a good movie!

I finally had the time to go watch Slumdog millionaire. I didn't know what to expect, thankfully I had not read much about it, despite its popularity...and...I simply LOVED it! What a brilliant movie! I truly enjoyed the movie, the story, the ongoing flashbacks, the picture, the music and the happy ending! The Academy Awards got it right this year!!
To all of you who have not had the chance to see it yet: go, it's worth it!
